Your seaplane license with Baltic Seaplane
At Baltic Seaplane you can acquire, extend or renew your SEP (Sea) class license under real coastal and open-water conditions on the German Baltic Sea coast.
We are an approved training organization (ATO) of the Schleswig-Holstein Aviation Authority (DE.SH.ATO.004) and specialize in training with amphibious floatplanes.
Pilots from all over Europe – including Germany, Belgium, Denmark, England, the Netherlands, Iceland, Croatia, Austria, Poland and Switzerland – complete their seaplane training with us.
International license management & regulatory coordination
We are in regular contact with European aviation authorities in order to correctly implement the registration of the SEP (Sea) authorization in national EASA licenses.
Whether initial entry, extension or renewal – we support you in coordinating with your competent authority and accompany the administrative process.
Training is provided in German or English.
Training environment
The basic training takes place in more sheltered areas such as Ribnitz-Damgarten or Heringsdorf. There, intensive water circuits and numerous “splash and go” maneuvers can be carried out in order to gain confidence in take-off and landing procedures.
The advanced training takes place under more demanding conditions on the Flensburg Fjord:

different wave and swell situations
This graduated concept guarantees sound and practical training.
Training aircraft
Most of the training takes place on our Cessna 172P Amphibian (floatplane).
For advanced training content, we also offer training on the Lake LA-4 Buccaneer flying boat.

SYLLABUS SEP (Sea)
We are happy to provide you with our SEP (Sea) syllabus and our seaplane handout for download.
- Prerequisite is PPL (A), LAPL (A), CPL (A) or ATPL (A).
- Sport boat license is not a requirement, but of course helpful.
- Duration of training: approx. 4-5 days, including test flight. Depending on wind, weather and waves.

Process:
- Theoretical instruction incl. textbook and test,
- 8 block hours of training on our Cessna 172P amphibian,
- Test flight with flight examiner (A).
- Our all-inclusive offer: 4428€ incl. VAT
- We always adapt your training to your individual previous knowledge and are as flexible as possible when it comes to your time preferences!
- Once training has begun, it must be completed within 6 months in accordance with EASA regulations!
- Can also be conducted in English.
- The seaplane license can also be purchased as a voucher.
- Prerequisite is PPL (A) or LAPL (A)
- Recreational boat license is not a requirement, but helpful.
- Duration approx. 4 - 5 days (depending on the weather) including test flight.
- Package deal with our Cessna 172P Amphibium: Theoretical instruction and textbook, 8 flight hours with experienced instructors and final test flight with an "examiner".
- Our all-inclusive offer: 4595€ incl. VAT
- Once training has begun, it must be completed within 6 months in accordance with EASA regulations!

We charge €369 per block hour (50 flight minutes) with our Cessna 172P Amphibium incl. VAT.
Per landing in Schäferhaus / EDXF: 10€ (special training price).
Examiner fee renewal: 139€ incl. VAT.
The costs of a renewal SEP (Sea) will be charged at cost. We will of course discuss the estimated costs with you in advance.
Instructor fee for refresher training: 95€ incl. VAT. VAT.

- Take-offs on land and water, landings on water, a final landing on land (EDXF).

- For many, this is the entry into seaplane flying, with immediate subsequent training! Then the taster flight will of course count towards the training! We would be glad!
