Baltic Seaplane is one of the leading providers of seaplane training and seaplane operations in Europe. We offer pilots the opportunity to acquire, extend or renew the SEP (Sea)<\/a> seaplane rating. In addition, we support advanced training in SET (Sea)<\/a> as well as open-water and rough-water operations. <\/p>

In addition to pilot training, as a recognized aviation company we offer passengers a unique experience on sightseeing flights. Baltic Seaplane is currently the only active company in Germany that offers sightseeing flights with seaplanes.<\/p>

We carry out our water sightseeing flights in Flensburg and along the Mecklenburg Lake District and the Baltic Sea coast – including Zingst, R\u00fcgen and Usedom.<\/p>

BALTIC SEAPLANE is an EASA registered air carrier (ATO D-SH 004 AOC) under the supervision of the Schleswig-Holstein Aviation Authority as well as a training organization (EASA ATO, DE.SH.AOC.004) and an approved flight school (FTO CAAT.FTO.0036) under the Thai Aviation Authority CAAT. We thus combine European training tradition with international activity.<\/p>

Experience, continuity and an international perspective<\/h3>

Baltic Seaplane GmbH was founded in 2015 as an initiative of experienced seaplane pilots and instructors. Luis Filipe Pitacas, who has been working in seaplane flying since 2006 and has already flown as a postholder and pilot for Clipper Aviation, among others, has been influential from the very beginning. With over 7,000 water landings on a wide variety of aircraft types, he has an exceptionally wide range of practical experience and is one of the most experienced seaplane pilots in Germany today. <\/p>

As Baltic Seaplane’s flight operations manager, he is now the central operational pillar of the company and the only founding member who is still actively involved in the company today.<\/p>

From the Baltic Sea to Thailand<\/h3>

In addition to classic SEP (Sea) training, we also support international projects in the commercial seaplane sector.<\/p>

In Thailand, as an approved FTO under CAAT, we support the structured development of modern seaplane operations. There, we train professional pilots for commercial open-water operations and work together with experienced experts from Maldivian seaplane aviation and the Thai aviation authority CAAT. <\/p>

We are thus combining the traditional seaplane history of the Baltic Sea with the development of new seaplane structures in Southeast Asia.<\/p>

Tradition and modernity<\/h3>

Since 2015, we have been operating our modernized Cessna 172P Amphibian as a training aircraft and continue the seaplane tradition in Flensburg – today supplemented by international projects, open-water training and the training of professional pilots.<\/p>
